Undeterred, Ughelli Rovers rallied in the second half, displaying renewed vigour as they pressed higher up the pitch in pursuit of an equaliser.
While showing improved organisation and cohesion, Rovers encountered a formidable defence in Ortega FC, thwarting their attempts to find the back of the net.
Although the match ended with a 2-0 defeat, the Nationwide League One side remain steadfast in their determination to bounce back in their forthcoming fixture against Holy Arrows FC at the Oleh Township Stadium, Isoko.
