Tolu Arokodare found the back of the net yet again to rescue his team from a potential slip as KRC Genk secured a dramatic late draw against St. Truiden during their Belgium Pro League game on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigerian forward played a vital role in KRC Genk’s dramatic 2-2 away draw by scoring his 10th goal of the season, Footballrover reports.
With both teams exchanging blows in the thrilling encounter, Arokodare’s early strike provided his side with a much-needed lead, though the match unfolded in unexpected ways.
In the 29th minute, Arokodare fired Genk into the lead, sending them into halftime with a narrow advantage.

However, controversy arose when the goal was initially ruled offside. Following a VAR review, referee Erik Lambrechts reversed the decision, allowing the goal to stand.
The Super Eagles hopeful celebrated his 10th goal of the season in front of an ecstatic crowd at the Daio Wasabi Stayen.
The second half saw St. Truiden respond strongly. Just 21 minutes after the restart, Adriano Bertaccini levelled the score with a powerful shot into the right post.
He wasn’t done there—11 minutes later, Bertaccini doubled his tally, giving the home side a 2-1 lead.
But just when it seemed St. Truiden would secure all three points, an own goal by Leo Kokubo in the 79th minute ensured the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Despite the draw, Genk enjoyed 60% of the possession and registered 23 goal attempts, showing their dominance in the match.
Arokodare’s performance, along with Yira Sor’s late cameo, leaves Genk just four points behind the league leaders after 16 rounds.
Arokodare’s goal may not have secured a win, but it played a crucial role in maintaining Genk’s position as they push for the league title.
With his 10th goal of the season, the Super Eagles hopeful continues to prove his worth in the Pro League.
