At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest defeated West Ham United 1-0 to earn their first Premier League victory of the season, courtesy of Taiwo Awoniyi, who scored the only goal on his full Premier League debut.
The home team needed to depend on luck at some point, but Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal was enough to give them the victory and all three points.
The Super Eagles player scored Nottingham Forest’s first Premier League goal in 23 years and 90 days, since Chris Bart-Williams’ goal against Leicester in May 1999.
The fact that Said Benrahma had a goal ruled out by VAR and then hit the crossbar in the second half will make it difficult for the Hammers to accept they lost the match.
Before Dean Henderson stopped Tomas Soucek, Pablo Fornals also struck the bar.
It wasn’t such an easy game for Forest, and to top it off, Declan Rice missed a penalty when Scott McKenna was called for handball, but Steve Cooper and his players could care less after the win.

“What an honor it was to open my premier league scoring account in a historical moment for this great club! Amazing spirit from the boys backed by the best fans! Glory to God and we go again!. When I have you, I have everything God.” – Awoniyi said.

At the other end, Nigerian forward – Kenneth Ikugar scored his first league goal on Sunday to open his account for the 2022–23 season.
The 21-year-old scored his first goal in four games with a powerful header to help Slavoj Trebiov defeat Rača 1-0 at the Štadión FK Rača.
The Nigerian striker – Kenneth Ikugar, who is presently on loan from Spartak Trnava, gave the visitors the lead in the second half of the Austrian Second League match (2. Liga) and his only goal proved to be winner that sealed all three points for his side.
After six games, Slavoj Trebiov, who has only managed to win two games and record two draws, is currently in eighth place with just eight points, while Rača is still in the bottom half of the standings with six points.
On Saturday, the two teams will compete against Považská Bystrica and Dubnica, respectively.
