Swedish top division side IF Elfsborg have completed and officially announced the signing of Ibrahim Buhari from NPFL side – Plateau United.
The 20-year-old defender featured in 34 games for Plateau United in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season before making the switch to IF Elfsborg.
Buhari was one of the league’s top goal scorers among defenders with six goals for Plateau United.
The former Rarara FC defender from Kaduna, Nigeria, signed a four-year contract with the six-time Swedish champions.
While speaking to the club website, Ibrahim said;
“I am very, very happy to be here. I feel ready to probably start properly.”
While the IF Elfsborg manager, Stefan Andreasson added;
“We are very pleased to be able to attract a player of Ibrahim’s caliber and potential, and look forward to continuing to develop him as a person and player.”
