Chelsea forward – Christian Pulisic has acknowledged that he is eager to start working with their new manager – Graham Potter after the final international break before the World Cup.
The USMNT’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Saudi Arabia in their final pre-World Cup friendly saw the 24-year-old attacking midfielder on duty this past week.
The 76 minutes the American international played in that match were almost half of the total time he has spent playing in the Premier League so far this year.
Chelsea former manager – Thomas Tuchel managed to give him just one start and took him off after an hour.
Before returning to Chelsea, Pulisic expressed his optimism about the chance for a new beginning at Stamford Bridge under a new manager in an interview with ESPN.
🗣 “It’s good to get some minutes in and I feel healthy and I’m feeling good going back to Chelsea, honestly. I have a fresh start now, and I’m excited to play for the new manager. So really just looking forward to it. I just have to prove myself, as everyone does, and as I’ve done before.” – he said.
Having featured in just 13 matches in the Premier League last campaign, prolonging his battle for playing time this season under Tuchel, Pulisic has been more of a supporting player recently at Stamford Bridge.
Under the new head coach, who has agreed a five-year contract with the Blues after departing Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month, Pulisic will be trying to make more of an impression to grab the starting lineup spot.
