Chukwuemeka Kalu, Sporting Lagos’ dynamic midfielder, has declared his unwavering commitment to propel the club out of the relegation zone and improve their standing in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
Kalu, reunited with his former club on a loan deal until the season’s end, carries the hopes of the Noisy Lagosians on his shoulders, Footballrover reports.
Fans erupted in celebration upon his return, eager to witness his magic reignite at the Onikan Stadium.
The midfielder, known for his scoring prowess, made his second debut against Rivers United, coming on in the 67th minute and contributing to the crucial 1-0 victory.
“It’s not easy to make a return to the club,” Kalu admits, revealing that he’s ready to dive in and help the NPFL newcomers climb the table.
His 23-minute cameo against Rivers United offered a glimpse of his potential, and the crucial victory marked a turning point for the struggling team.
The win ended a seven-game winless streak, propelling the Paul Offor side to 15th place, just three points above the relegation zone.
However, Kalu remains undeterred, claiming that the victory is fuel for the fire and that they will build on this momentum and fight their way up.
“I want to work hard and help the club improve our position on the table,” he said.
Next up, Kalu and his teammates will gear up to face Bendel Insurance at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena as the league resumes.
Will Kalu’s return spark a resurgence and secure Sporting Lagos’ top-flight status?
Fans of the Tech Boys hold their breath, anticipating more excitement in the air.
