The Tanzanian Premier League, notorious for poaching top players from Nigeria, has struck again, and this time, the duo of Sochima Victor and Shadrack Asiegbu have been lured away from NPFL.
Another Nigerian talent exodus is underway!
Footballrover can exclusively confirm that both players have signed one-year deals with Tabora United FC, with an option to extend their stay, Footballrover reports.
The move comes after the pair successfully passed their medicals.
Super Eagles shotstopper Sochima Victor is swapping the bustling Garden City for the Tanzanian turf after parting ways with Rivers United as a free agent.
Before his stint with the Pride of Rivers in 2022, the 25-year-old goalkeeper honed his skills at Jigawa Golden Stars FC and Heartland FC.
With over 65 NPFL appearances, nine CAF Confederation Cup games, and five CAF Champions League matches under his belt, Victor brings a wealth of experience to his new club.
Joining Victor on the journey to Tanzania is the creative midfielder Shadrack Asiegbu.
After seeing his contract expire at Rivers United, the 25-year-old decided to seek greener pastures in East Africa.

Asiegbu began his NPFL career at Abia Warriors before moving to Enugu Rangers in 2020.
Although boasting 173 NPFL appearances, his goal contributions—a mere 16 goals and four assists—might not fully reflect his talent and what he brings to the table.
Both players were part of the Rivers United squad that endured a disappointing eighth-place finish in the NPFL last season.
However, they did manage to guide the team to the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup under coach Stanley Eguma.
