New York City turned into a battleground as AC Milan stunned the might of Man City in a thrilling pre-season clash courtesy of two brilliant assists from Samuel Chukwueze in the first period of the game to seal their first win of the pre-season.
The Rossoneri were on a mission to bounce back to winning ways after a 1-1 draw against SK Rapid in a midweek game, and they did it in style, thanks to a masterclass from Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, Footballrover reports
It was a first-half masterclass that left Pep Guardiola’s men shell-shocked.
While Erling Haaland managed to get his name on the scoresheet with the opening goal, City’s defence looked like a sieve against the inspired Rossoneri.
The Yankee Stadium was treated to a footballing spectacle from there on as the former Villarreal star orchestrated the turn around with a couple of passes that left City’s defence scrambling.

Chukwueze was the star of the match, pulling the strings and dictating the tempo.
His first assist was a thing of beauty, a perfectly weighted pass that found Lorenzo Colombo, who levelled the score.
But the Nigerian wasn’t done yet. Just minutes later, he pulled another piece of magic, setting up Colombo once again to give Milan the lead.
The second half saw a more determined City side, with James McAtee pulling one back.
However, it was too little, too late, as a late strike from Marco Nasti sealed the deal for Milan.

With his work done for the night, Chukwueze was rightly substituted and replaced by 19-year-old defender Alejandro Jimenez, while two-goal scorer Lorenzo Colombo was also replaced by Marco Nasti.
Moving ahead, City will need to tighten up at the back if they hope to challenge for titles this season.
Their next test comes against Barcelona, while Milan will face Real Madrid in another blockbuster clash.
