The acting general manager of RSTV, Dr. Fingesi Onusoya, made the call during a courtesy visit from the state leadership of SWAN, Footballrover reports.

He urged SWAN to encourage sports associations in the state to promote sports, stating that RSTV will provide full support to ensure sports thrive in Rivers State.

Fingesi stated that Rivers Sports journalists always stand out amongst the committee of associations in Nigeria and that they can compete at any level, which embodies the spirit of Rivers SWAN.

The Chairman of SWAN, Rivers Chapter, Cyril Dum Wite, congratulated Dr. Fingesi on his appointment and emphasised the importance of promoting grassroots sports.

We want to partner with the Rivers State Government to promote grassroots sports, and RSTV will be key to this tripartite arrangement,” he said.

Mr. Cyril expressed hope that their partnership would grow from strength to strength, adding that they trust things can only get better with this administration.

Both parties agreed to work together to develop sports in Rivers State, with RSTV providing media support and SWAN encouraging sports associations to promote sporting activities.

This partnership aims to revive sporting activities in the state and promote grassroots sports development.
