In Sunday’s Serie A encounter at the Diego Maradona Stadium, goal from Victor Osimhen was not enough to secure a win for Napoli, as late equaliser from Tammy Abraham salvaged a 2-2 draw against Roma.
Napoli, buoyed by the attacking prowess of Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Matteo Politano, initiated the assault against Roma from the onset, Footballrover reports.
Despite their dominance and Osimhen’s early threats, both teams ended the halftime deadlock at 0-0.
The second half witnessed an explosion of action, with Paulo Dybala breaking the deadlock for Roma in the 59th minute.
However, Napoli swiftly responded with Mathias Olivera’s equaliser just six minutes later.
As Napoli intensified their attacking force, they earned a penalty in the 81st minute, expertly converted by Osimhen, putting them in the lead.

Yet, their hopes of a victory were dashed when Tammy Abraham netted a late equaliser in the 89th minute to seal off a 2-2 draw.
This result leaves Napoli languishing in ninth place in Serie A, nine points adrift of a coveted Champions League qualification spot, with only four games remaining in the season.
Despite the disappointment, Napoli’s resilience and attack displayed their determination to compete at the highest level of Italian football.
As the Serie A season approaches its climax, Napoli will seek to capitalise on every opportunity to climb the league table and secure European qualification.
