The Owena Whales have been a formidable force in past encounters with Rivers United, boasting a better head-to-head record over 16 meetings.
However, Finidi George emphasised that while Sunshine Stars have a strong psychological advantage, his team will approach the game with determination and discipline.

“For me, every game is important, so we are here for another important match. It’s not going to be easy, but I think if we play to our strengths, we’ll have a chance to win. We’ll take every game as it comes and with all seriousness.”
“We are running our own race; we’re not looking at what others are doing. We’ll just see how we can get the best out of this match.”
