Rivers Angels coach, Whyte Ogbonda, has expressed frustration after his team’s 4-1 loss to Edo Queens, asserting they could have won by a significant margin if they had capitalised on their chances.
Despite missing key players, Ogbonda believes in the depth of his squad and vows to improve ahead of their next match.

Coach Whyte Ogbonda voiced his frustration, citing missed opportunities as the primary reason for their defeat.
He lamented his team’s inability to capitalise on scoring chances, emphasising that they could have secured a resounding victory if they had been more clinical in front of goal.
“I think in the first five minutes of the match, my players lost concentration in the game, and the goalkeeper gave them a free goal,” he said.
Ogbonda dismissed suggestions that the absence of key players, who were away for African games, was a decisive factor in the loss, highlighting the depth of talent within his squad.
“We created a lot of chances; if we had utilised all our chances in this match, we would have won this match six nil,” Ogbonda stated, reflecting on the squandered opportunities.
Looking ahead, Ogbonda acknowledged the need for improvement as the Rivers Angels prepare to host the Delta Queens in their upcoming fixture.
He emphasised the importance of capitalising on scoring opportunities and vowed to work with the team to enhance their efficiency in front of the goal.
