In a lop-sided Nigeria Women’s Football League match held in Benin City, Edo Queens secured a resounding victory over the Rivers Angels on Wednesday evening.
The Edo Ladies dominated their visitors with a commanding 4-1 win at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, spearheaded by the remarkable performance of Goodness Osigwe, who netted a hat-trick, Footballrover reports.

Osigwe’s early brace rattled the visitors, leaving them struggling to find their footing in the game.
Despite the Rivers Angels managing to claw back with a goal just before halftime, scored by Peace Effiong from a sublime cross by Sefiat Idris, the Edo ladies maintained their momentum.
The second half saw the home team continue their dominance, with two more goals added to their tally.
In the 56th minute, a penalty was awarded to the Edo Queens after Miracle Joseph was fouled in the box by Ifeoma Ikenokwalu.
Goodness Osigwe confidently converted from the spot, completing her hat-trick and further solidifying her team’s lead.
Later in the match, Amarachukwu Onuorah capitalised on a counter-attack, extending the Edo Queens’ lead with a well-taken goal.
With additional three minutes added, Rivers Angels failed to mount a comeback, and the match ended with a convincing 4-1 victory for the hosts.
