Super Falcons star Rinsola Babajide continued her impressive run in Spanish Liga F, contributing yet again as her team UD Tenerife concluded their season with a dominant 5-goal performance against Real Sociedad on Sunday afternoon.
Babajide provided an assist as Tenerife wrapped up their campaign with a convincing 4-1 victory over their visitors at the Adeje Football Field, Footballrover reports.
Rinsola Babajide secures her 5th Liga F assist
The 26-year-old played for 71 minutes, registering three shots on goal and ultimately providing the 4th goal that wrapped up the victory.
Across her 26 appearances in the Spanish Primera División, Rinsola Babajide has amassed an impressive 15 goal contributions, comprising ten goals and five assists.
This stellar performance sealed her position as the team’s top scorer with 10 goals, matching her compatriot Gift Monday, who has since moved to the NWSL.
The impact of Babajide’s 5th Liga F assist on Tenerife’s victory
Rinsola concluded the season as Tenerife’s leading playmaker, closely followed by Gift Monday, who recorded three assists.
The Nigerian international and her teammates finished their campaign on a three-game unbeaten streak, securing two wins and a draw, which placed them 6th in the league standings with 42 points.
UD Tenerife surged to a commanding 4-0 lead in the first half. Aleksandra Zaremba set the tone early, scoring in the 6th minute, quickly followed by Sakina Ouzraoui’s goal just three minutes later.
The home team maintained relentless pressure, with Maria José Pérez scoring twice within a ten-minute span, first in the 19th minute and again just before halftime, making it 4-0.
Real Sociedad managed to pull a goal back through Lucia Pardio in the 50th minute, but the first-half damage was insurmountable.
In the 71st minute, Lena Silano replaced Babajide as Sociedad sought a late resurgence, but Tenerife comfortably secured a decisive victory.
