Kwara United came back from a goal down to beat Sporting Lagos 2-1, while Plateau United narrowly edged Katsina United 1-0, Footballrover reports

Sunshine Stars also came from behind to beat Abia Warriors 2-1, while Heartland FC and Rivers United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Kwara United vs Sporting Lagos

Kwara United faced an early setback as Jonathan Alukwu scored for Sporting Lagos barely a minute into the game at the Ilorin Township Stadium.

However, just before halftime, the center referee awarded a penalty to the Ilorin Boys, and Ejeh Isaiah calmly converted it to level the scores.

In the late stages of the game, Ifeanyi Egwim secured a victory for Kwara United, giving them all three points.

With this win, Kwara moves to the 12th spot with eight points, while Sporting Lagos remains in the ninth spot with the same number of points.

Plateau United vs Katsina United

Christopher Nwaeze found the back of the net just 13 minutes into the game, giving Plateau United an early lead.

The first half ended with no further goals. In the second half, neither team managed to score, and Plateau United held on to secure the crucial three points.

This victory pushed them to the 7th position on the NPFL table with nine points, while Katsina United dropped to the 11th position with a one-point difference.

Sunshine Stars vs Abia Warriors

Abia Warriors wasted no time in taking the lead through Adejoh Ojonugwa, leaving the home fans in disbelief.

However, the Akure Stadium came alive as the host equalized just seven minutes before the first-half break.

Abia Warriors were reduced to ten men when Paschal Nwabueze received a red card in the 58th minute.

The home team found the winning goal in injury time after nine additional minutes were awarded.

Heartland Fc vs Rivers United

Heartland Fc quickly asserted their dominance over Rivers United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, with Onyekachi Okafor scoring 18 minutes into the game.

However, the visitors wasted no time in equalizing, with Farouk Mohammed finding the net 17 minutes later.

Both sides couldn’t capitalize on their chances in the second half, resulting in a draw. Heartland Fc is now in the 20th position, while Rivers United remains in the 10th spot with just eight points.

Remo Stars vs Shooting Stars

In the South West Derby, Remo Stars demonstrated their dominance by scoring early. Ahmed Akinyele netted the opening goal just 20 minutes into the game with a powerful header from a corner kick.

The Ikenne Stadium erupted with excitement when Sikiru Alimi doubled the lead to make it 2-0 for the Sky Blue Stars.

Sikiru Alimi also converted a penalty in the 64th minute, scoring his brace and his fifth league goal of the season, securing a comfortable victory for Remo Stars.

This win temporarily places Remo Stars at the top of the NPFL table with 12 points.

Akwa United vs Gombe United

Akwa United took the lead in the first half when Kufre Ebong scored just ten minutes before halftime, delighting their fans.

However, the second half saw no goals from either side, and Akwa held on for their first victory of the season.

This win lifted them out of the relegation zone to the 15th position with six points, while Gombe United remains in the 6th position with nine points.

Kano Pillars vs Bayelsa United

Mubarak Sani opened the scoring for Kano Pillars after a tense 30 minutes of play at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Rabiu Ali doubled the lead just seven minutes into the second half with his second goal of the season.

Abba Adam added another goal just six minutes before the final whistle, securing the biggest win of the season for Pillars.

This victory moved them to the 5th position on the NPFL table with nine points, while Bayelsa United remained in the 16th position with six points.

Niger Tornadoes vs Enyimba

The match between these two NPFL giants from the North and East failed to produce a first-half goal.

Both teams sought an opener in the second half but couldn’t capitalize on their chances, resulting in a goalless draw.

Niger Tornadoes is now in the 13th position with seven points, while Enyimba continues to battle relegation with just four points.

The biggest wins of the day went to Kano Pillars, who thrashed Bayelsa United 3-0 and Remo Stars also picking up massive three points beating Shooting Stars 3-0.

Akwa United finally got their first win of the season, beating Gombe United 1-0, while Niger Tornadoes and Enyimba played out a goalless draw.
