FT. Insurance 1-3 Tornadoes.
Our long home unbeaten record shattered; it is a difficult moment for us. We have not lost at home since 2007. That is almost two decades. A big lesson to be drawn from the unfortunate outcome in MD28 #NPFL24 pic.twitter.com/czLh1PYEXt— Bendel Insurance FC (@BendelInsurance) April 3, 2024
The visiting side’s early strikes caught the home fans off guard, setting the tone for an intense showdown.
Ernest Chidiebere put the visitors ahead when he scored just 13 minutes into the contest, to the surprise of the home crowd.
After that, the Ikon Allah Boys didn’t stop pushing for more, and their dominance paid off when Azeez doubled the lead.
In the final four minutes before the first half break, the Minna Boys scored the third goal through Jephta without replying.
Despite a valiant effort from Bendel Insurance, which managed to pull off a consolation goal through Chukwudi Meze, they were unable to overturn the deficit.
As the final whistle blew, Niger Tornadoes celebrated a well-deserved victory, propelling them to 11th place on the NPFL table, just one point behind their defeated opponents.
