Coach Daniel Ogunmodede highlighted the positive aspect that the players adhered to the planned strategy meticulously during their practice sessions.
Emphasising the importance of preparation, he credited the team’s success to their commitment to practicing and fine-tuning their strategies leading up to the match.
The boys from Kogi thrashed the Savannah Scorpions 4-0 in a matchday eight fixture at the Remo Stars Stadium over the weekend.
Remo Stars hitman Sikiru Alimi bagged a brace to become the NPFL top scorer after increasing his goal tally to seven this campaign.
Franck Mawuena and Aniekeme Okon both found the back of the net for the Sky Blue Stars to complete the rout.
Ogunmodede claimed that all his players performed well and approached the encounter according to his plans.
“The good thing is that the players played the game as planned during practice. The first goal gave the players confidence to express themselves. All the players performed well in the encounter, aside from one or two who are yet to be match-fit, he told the club’s media.

With the stunning victory, the Remo Stars moved up to second place on the NPFL table with 15 points, while the Gombe Scorpions remain six points below their hosts in 15th place.
Moving forward, the Sky Blue Stars will be visiting Akwa United next at the Eket Township Stadium, with the hopes of continuing their winning run.
