In a noteworthy turn of events, Tella’s impressive form earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where he will display his commitment to representing the nation.
Following the game, Coach Alonso shared valuable insights with Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Jose Peseiro, highlighting Tella’s capabilities and suggesting how the 24-year-old winger could significantly contribute to the team.
“Nathan is a player that has the ability to just do the right thing, be in the right place, he has the quality to be in the box and makes the right runs. In Nigeria they have great strikers and maybe they could use good wingers. He’s a really nice guy with a strong mentality, he has a great attitude,” praised Coach Alonso.
Meanwhile, Nathan Tella celebrated his milestone on social media, stating on his official platform, “Great way to go into the international break. Happy to score my first Bundesliga goal.”
