However, his recent performances in the Bundesliga and Thursday night’s Europa League showed his resilience and determination to regain his top form.

Boniface marked his comeback with a stellar display in Leverkusen’s recent matches, including a crucial goal against West Ham United.

His striking prowess was on full display as he netted the second goal in a thrilling encounter to help Xabi Alonso’s side seal off an important win.
