Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has expressed his passion about the national team role and being part of the Super Eagles coaching setup during the recent international break.

As Nigeria navigated their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Ogunmodede, along with Enugu Rangers head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, assisted interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen in securing a dominant 3-0 win over Benin Republic and a goalless draw against Rwanda.

Reflecting on his experience, Ogunmodede shared his deep sense of pride in serving his country at the highest level, Footballrover reports.

He emphasised that the success of the Super Eagles relies heavily on the support and unity of Nigerians, urging fans to remain positive.

The Remo Stars coach, who led his team to a stellar second-place finish in the NPFL last season, remains open to continuing his role with the national team.

Ogunmodede, known for his tactical brilliance in the NPFL so far, expressed his willingness to embrace any further opportunities that come his way, stating that he can “hardly say no” to serving the national team.

As Nigeria gears up for their next AFCON qualifier against Libya, calls are growing for Ogunmodede and Ilechukwu to remain part of the Super Eagles coaching staff.

Their contributions have reignited conversations about the value of promoting successful NPFL coaches to national roles, and coach Ijaball has expressed his readiness to serve and deliver.

“If they want me to stay on, I’ll be more than willing to serve,” he said.
