Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu marked his return to the Turkish Super Lig in style after leading Trabzonspor to a thrilling opening-day win in front of their home fans on Monday evening.

The Nigerian striker’s goal not only sealed the victory over Kocaelispor but also left him beaming with joy as he reflected on the match and the team’s performance at the Papara Park, Footballrover reports.

Onuachu Delighted After Trabzonspor Opening-Day Win

The Nigerian star expressed joy at playing for Black Sea Storm once again, praising the narrow victory and home fans.

— “It’s a great feeling for me to play here again and to be here. It was a beautiful victory. We thank our fans. We were a bit tired in the second half, but it was a great victory. We are very happy,” Paul Onuachu said, as quoted by markafutbol.

The 31-year-old was quick to praise the tactical changes under the new coach.

— “Different coaches, different systems. The system we had with our previous coach was good, and the system we are trying to implement now is also very good. Being able to reflect our coach’s expectations on the field is very important for us.”

Speaking about the team’s effort, Onuachu acknowledged the commitment shown in the Trabzonspor opening-day win.

— “As a team, we put in a great effort. It was a fantastic victory, and we are very happy. As players, we need to work hard.”
