Nigerian star Prosper Obah had an impressive outing in the Ukrainian Premier League over the weekend as he scored a decisive goal to help LNZ Cherkasy secure a convincing victory over Polissya Zhytomyr.
Despite featuring for just 24 minutes, the 21-year-old right-winger ensured his impact was felt during his short time on the pitch, Footballrover reports.
Prosper Obah’s Late Strike Secures LNZ Cherkasy’s Win
The Sunday fixture saw Obah come off the bench to deliver the winning goal late into the game as LNZ crushed their hosts, Polissya, 2-0 at the Tsentralnyi Stadion.
The visitors started the game on a strong foot when Shota Nonikashvili fired them ahead just 29 minutes into the contest. They carried that slim lead into the break.
Twenty-one minutes after the interval, Obah was introduced to replace Eynel Soares.
He made his mark in stoppage time, finding the back of the net to seal the win and secure all three points for the visitors.
First Goal of the Season for Prosper Obah
This was Obah’s first goal of the season after three rounds of matches, helping LNZ maintain third spot on the table with two wins and a draw.
So far, Obah has only featured for 84 minutes in total, coming on as a substitute in all the games. He will be hoping for more playing time when LNZ face Veres Rivne next.
The former Vizela star managed just five goals in 35 appearances last season before switching to LNZ during the summer transfer window.
