Trabzonspor emerged victorious in their Turkish Super Lig clash against Istanbulspor on Sunday night, thanks to a brace from Super Eagles star Paul Onuachu.
The Nigerian forward led his team to a comfortable home win, scoring twice in the first half to seal the victory, Footballrover reports.
Onuachu’s Quick-Fire Brace
Onuachu opened the scoring for Trabzonspor barely six minutes into the game at Papara Park after a well-coordinated effort with Edin Visca.
The 29-year-old forward went on to double his team’s advantage a minute later, with Visca providing the assist once again.
This impressive start handed the home fans plenty to cheer about heading into the interval.
Meunier Wraps Up the Scoring
Four minutes into the second half, Belgium defender Thomas Meunier wrapped up the scoring to seal the win and all three points for Trabzonspor.
Onuachu featured for just 64 minutes, taking three shots before being replaced by Turkish international forward Umut Bozok.
Onuachu’s Impressive Form
The Nigerian international has now scored five goals and provided one assist in his last four outings for Trabzonspor.
With 18 goals contribution in 20 league appearances this season, Onuachu continues to impress.
His team maintains their third position on the table with 61 points from 36 games.
