Enugu Rangers coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has confidence as the NPFL season sets to kick off, boldly declaring that he has no fear of the El-Kanemi Warriors and is determined to lead his team to victory in the highly anticipated opener.
The Flying Antelopes are set to face off against the Borno Army in their first home game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium this weekend, Footballrover reports.
While speaking to Nigerian Players Gallery, Ilechukwu expressed confidence in their chances of victory, stating that they are fully focused on their first league match of the week at home against Maiduguri Warriors.
The coach of the Coal City side has, however, warned his players to expect a tough battle from the NPFL newcomers, the Desert Warriors.
“It’s going to be a tough game, but I don’t fear them; I will beat them at the cathedral.
The Rangers boss concluded by expressing trust in his team, emphasising that as league champions, they have a “never say die” attitude.

The Enugu-based team, having secured their eighth NPFL title last season, will be coming into this match as the defending champions, while the Northeastern side comes in as the reigning President FA Cup winners.
It’s a showdown between champions, where only one will reign supreme.
