Osimhen’s injury during the international break and subsequent absence from the Milan game was a major setback for Napoli.

Osimhen picked up an injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles, and Napoli felt the impact of his absence as they soundly lost to AC Milan 4-0 at home.

After picking up an injury while playing for Nigeria in an international match against Guinea-Bissau, Osimhen was instructed to take a rest and watch the game on TV.

Osimhen’s absence gave AC Milan the opportunity to hammer Napoli, demonstrating the value of the Nigerian striker to the Serie A leaders.

Before now, Napoli has won every game they’ve played in all competitions this season without Victor Osimhen, including the rematch in Serie A against AC Milan on September 18, 2022.

But this time around, the striker’s absence from the Napoli team was felt keenly as his teammates suffered a night of grieving humiliation at the hands of a hungry Stefano Pioli’s team.
