Niger Tornadoes Chairman, Ibrahim Dada, has rewarded his players with a cash gift of N500,000 in recognition of their recent success over Rivers United in a crucial NPFL match.
Tornadoes clinched this vital victory through a 6th-minute penalty successfully converted by Bashir Usman after Rivers United incurred a penalty due to a handling mistake.
This Sunday’s win marked a significant milestone for Niger Tornadoes, as it was their first victory over Rivers United in four years and their initial home victory against the former NPFL champions in three league seasons.
In his statement, Dada explained that this gesture aims to enhance the players’ morale as they prepare for upcoming matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The chairman himself was present as one of the hundreds of spectators at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, during the impressive 1-0 win against the Stanley Eguma side.
The Niger Tornadoes’ Chairman Ibrahim Dada told the club’s media that the N500,000 reward was to appreciate the players’ impressive dedication for the victory against the Port Harcourt outfit.
“This token is a recognition of your remarkable dedication that led to the victory against Rivers United.”
Dada further admitted that managing the team is a service to his state and that he is committed to doing everything necessary to ensure their success, with God’s help.
He added that while some may doubt the players’ abilities, the management and coaching staff have faith in them, and it is their responsibility to prove the skeptics wrong.
