Niger Tornadoes coach, Majin Mohammed has expressed his delight after his team managed to secure a 1-1 draw against a ‘professional’ Enyimba side.
Late drama at Elephant Park denied Tornadoes a crucial win but leaves Coach Majin praising his side’s resilience against a side that features in continental games, Footballrover reports.
The Ikon Allah’s bid to secure their third victory of the season was thwarted in dramatic fashion when Enyimba’s Ufere Chinedu rose high to nod home a late equaliser, cancelling out Godstime Joseph’s first-half opener.
Tornadoes had taken the lead just before the interval, hoping to maintain it, but Chinedu’s header ensured both sides shared the spoils in Aba.
While Enyimba dominated possession for much of the contest, Niger Tornadoes stood their ground defensively, determined not to leave empty-handed.
The Minna-based team left Aba with a hard-fought point, their fourth draw in seven matches this season, alongside two wins and a single defeat.
Heading into the clash, Tornadoes had been buoyed by a 1-1 draw against Lobi Stars, but their midweek showdown against the People’s Elephant ended in a similar scoreline, keeping them in search of more consistency.
