Super Eagles star Nathan Tella continued his fine Bundesliga form with a key assist vs Augsburg, helping Bayer Leverkusen secure a 2-0 win at the BayArena on Saturday afternoon.
The 25-year-old provided the opening goal as Die Werkself kept their slim title hopes alive, Footballrover reports.
Tella’s precise low cross found Patrik Schick, who hammered a rocket past Augsburg’s Finn Dahmen in the 13th minute.
It marked Nathan Tella’s third assist of the Bundesliga campaign and his eighth overall goal contribution across 38 appearances in all competitions.

Bayer Leverkusen dominated the first half, and despite a spirited Augsburg fightback, added a second goal through Emiliano Buendía’s thunderous strike before halftime.
The Nigerian international almost turned scorer himself, tapping home at the far post, but VAR ruled him offside.
However, his assist vs Augsburg proved crucial for the Xabi Alonso side as Leverkusen snapped Augsburg’s eight-game unbeaten away run in the Bundesliga.

Although Tella was substituted after 64 minutes for Piero Hincapie, his early impact ensured Augsburg never truly recovered.
Meanwhile, compatriot Victor Boniface remained an unused substitute.
Despite Bayern Munich’s concurrent victory maintaining their lead atop the table, Tella’s performance ensured that Bayer Leverkusen’s pursuit of another Bundesliga crown remains mathematically alive.
With three matches left, Leverkusen will need maximum points and hope for a Bayern slip-up.
