Nigerian forward Moses Usor delivered a Man of the Match performance over the weekend, netting a goal and providing an assist to inspire LASK to a dominant victory over Austria Wien in Austrian Bundesliga.

The 24-year-old was the heart of the action at the Raiffeisen Arena, setting up the opening goal before scoring the third himself as the home side cruised to a 4-1 win, Footballrover reports

Moses Usor has now found the back of the net in consecutive games, bringing his recent tally to two goals and two assists in his last four outings.

This Round 25 clash in the Bundesliga championship group saw the forward hit double digits, marking his 10th goal of the season.

He now boasts 14 goal contributions (10 goals and 4 assists) across all competitions.

The hosts set the tone early, with Modou Cissé firing them ahead barely five minutes into the game after a neat assist from Moses Usor.

Austria Wien’s night quickly went from bad to worse when Tin Plavotic was sent off in the 12th minute, leaving them a man down.

LASK capitalised instantly, as Kasper Jørgensen doubled the lead just a minute later. Moments after, Moses Usor turned from provider to scorer, finishing off Sascha Horvath’s pass to make it 3-0 inside 14 minutes.

Despite the early setback, Austria Wien found a response through Tae-Seok Lee in the 16th minute, briefly halting LASK’s momentum.

However, the hosts remained firmly in control and added a fourth in the 33rd minute, with Sasa Kalajdzic finishing off a well-worked move assisted by Andrés Andrade.

Despite the emphatic victory, LASK remains in 4th place with 22 points. They are now level on points with Rapid Wien, who sit just above them in 3rd place on goal difference.

Gong nets brace to seal Spartak Trnava comeback

In Slovakia Nike Liga, Nigerian star Hilary Gong also put out a man-of-the-match performance, grabbing a brace to make sure his team, Spartak Trnava, enjoyed a huge home win over Podbrezova.

The 27-year-old came off the bench to deliver two late goals as Spartak came from a goal down to crush their visitors 4-1 at the City Arena.

In the round 4 clash, the Nigerian was thrown into the game in the 76th minute to replace his compatriot Philip Azango, and it took him just three minutes on the pitch to make such a huge impact.

And that was his third league goal of the season. With two assists under his belt and two more goals in the cup game, his goal contribution hits seven in 18 appearances.

Spartak Trnava produced a dominant second-half display to overturn an early deficit and cruise to a convincing 4-1 victory over Podbrezova.

The visitors struck first in the 20th minute through Roland Galcík, who finished neatly after being set up by Samuel Stefánik.

Spartak responded just before the break, as Idjessi Metsoko levelled the score on the stroke of halftime with a well-taken effort assisted by Erik Sabo.

After the restart, the hosts took full control. A 70th-minute own goal by Rene Lampreht handed Spartak the lead before Hilary Gong stole the show late on.

He scored twice in quick succession in the 79th and 81st minutes to seal the emphatic win.

Other Nigerian stars light up leagues worldwide

Meanwhile, other Nigerians abroad were also in fine form across Europe and beyond, delivering goals and standout performances for their clubs.

Ismaheel Akinade opened the scoring in the 74th minute to set Gabala SC on their way to a solid 2-0 away win over Sabah FC in the Azerbaijan Premier League.

In Moldova, Peter Oluwaseun Ademo struck early in the 23rd minute as FC Sheriff battled to a 2-2 draw against Zimbru Chișinău.

The standout performance of the day came from Emmanuel Ogbole, who netted a brilliant hat-trick (4th, 32nd, 59th minutes) to power CS Sfaxien to a commanding 3-0 home win over JS Kairouan.

Over in Albania, Godswill Chiwendu grabbed a brace to inspire FC Besa to a thrilling 3-2 away victory against AF Luftëtari.

There was also a dominant display in the Czech Republic, where David Okoromi scored twice as Slovacko B cruised to a 4-0 away win over FC Zlín B.

In Sweden, rising talent Yohanna Zadok delivered a complete performance, contributing a goal and an assist to lead AIK to a 2-1 home win against Halmstads BK.

A productive outing all round, with Nigerians abroad making decisive impacts across multiple leagues.
