Emmanuel Ogbole hat-trick powers CS Sfaxien to victory
Ogbole made his intentions clear early on, finding the back of the net barely four minutes into the game. He rose highest to power home a header from a corner kick, giving the hosts a dream start.
Shortly after the half-hour mark, the Nigerian forward doubled both his tally and his team’s lead. Latching onto a swift counterattack, he calmly slotted the ball into the bottom-left corner to make it 2-0 heading into the break.
Fourteen minutes into the second half, Ogbole struck again to seal the victory. The former Kwara United striker headed home from a well-delivered free kick, completing his first professional hat-trick in emphatic fashion.
With the three goals, he became the first foreign player to score a hat-trick in the league this season. His performance also extended CS Sfaxien’s unbeaten run to five matches—one draw and four consecutive wins.
Ogbole has now taken his tally to five league goals this season, matching the output of his compatriot Stanley Ogoh.
CS Sfaxien unbeaten run boosted by Ogbole brilliance
His contributions continue to drive CS Sfaxien’s push for a continental ticket, as the team climbs to third place with 48 points—six behind leaders Esperance—with just two games remaining.
CS Sfaxien will return to action on Saturday, April 11, against AS Soliman, aiming to maintain momentum and finish the season strongly.
While speaking to the team’s media after the game, the former NPFL star expressed his delight at the milestone achievement.
“Scoring a hat-trick in a big club like CSS is the happiest day of my life. I always dream of scoring hat-trick in a big club like this. So I’m grateful.
I’m not a player that is on individual performance; the most important thing is for the club to get points. Every game, we want to win, so if the goals come, we score. We try to win for the club,” he said.
