Man United boss Ruben Amorim has openly expressed his frustration over the club’s recent struggles, mirroring the sentiments of disappointed fans.
Speaking ahead of their Boxing Day Premier League clash with Wolves, the ‘frustrated’ manager vowed to address the team’s issues step by step, promising a determined fight to improve their fortunes, footballrover reports.
‘I know what to’do’—Amorim’s response to poor form
The Red Devils have endured a tough period, with back-to-back losses against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup and Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Currently sitting 13th on the Premier League table with 22 points from 17 matches, Manchester United’s performance has been a shadow of their former dominance.
Amorim, however, remains steadfast in his resolve. During the pre-match press conference, he acknowledged the mounting pressure but assured fans that he knows what needs to be done.
“I just want to win; I don’t care about Christmas. I’m really frustrated, like the fans, but I know what to do. But then we have to solve some problems step by step, finding answers for everything. We will fight for that,“ he stated, emphasising his focus on results over festivities.
Ruben Amorim’s firm stance on Rashford’s exclusion
Adding to the turbulence, Marcus Rashford’s omission from the matchday squad has raised issues as well for the team.
The 27-year-old forward has missed the last three games against Manchester City, Tottenham, and Bournemouth due to failure to meet the standards expected by the manager.
Ruben Amorim did not mince words about Rashford’s situation, claiming that the player would remain sidelined until he proves his commitment.
“I speak with him every day, not about the interview but about the performance. It’s my decision. He wants to play. He is trying. It’s my decision, only my decision. I’m trying to do things my way. And it’s the only way I know if I don’t do that I will lose myself, and I will not lose myself. I know what I’m doing.”
The Man United boss said, reinforcing his uncompromising approach to discipline and performance.
