AC Milan boss Paulo Fonseca has pinpointed two key areas Samuel Chukwueze must address to overcome his early struggles at the club.
Chukwueze, who had a commendable outing during pre-season with a goal against Real Madrid and two assists against Premier League champions Manchester City, has been unable to replicate that form since the start of the new campaign, footballrover reports.
The 25-year-old winger has only started two games for the Rossoneri and was a second-half substitute in their recent Serie A clash at San Siro.
Coming on in the 63rd minute for Christian Pulisic, Chukwueze managed just one shot during his 27-minute cameo, as first-half goals from Álvaro Morata, Theo Hernández, and Pulisic sealed the match early.
Despite his potential, Chukwueze is yet to make a goal contribution in his six Serie A appearances this season, even as Milan cruised to a 3-0 win over Lecce.

In an interview with the club’s official website ahead of that game, Fonseca revealed that Chukwueze needs to adapt to the fast-paced demands of Italian football if he is to thrive.
Fonseca emphasised that Serie A defenders don’t offer players much time or space, which poses a challenge for Chukwueze, known for his dribbling and ball control.
“He must make the right decisions quickly,,” Fonseca explained.
The AC Milan boss also noted that Chukwueze’s confidence is crucial for his development.
“Chukwueze had a very good pre-season; I think he just needs to build confidence within the context of Serie A, where you have neither time nor space to think,” the Milan Boss said.
Milan, who have only won two of their five Serie A games so far, are also grappling with a tough Champions League start after losing to Liverpool.
AC Milan’s boss, Fonseca, discussing Samuel Chukwueze, noted that Serie A is a league “where there is less space.”
I often hear/read that Serie A is slow, so, people have more time and space on the ball.

They face Bayer Leverkusen on October 1st, a match where Chukwueze could play a key role if he heeds Fonseca’s advice.
