22-year-old midfielder Samson Olasupo doubled the lead 36 minutes later with a stunning strike.

With this win, Katsina United climbs to sixth place with 52 points, while Gombe United, already relegated, remains at the bottom of the table.

The Peace Boys scored in both halves, ensuring the Harmony Boys left the Jos International Stadium empty-handed.

Alexander Enejo put the home side ahead 29 minutes into the game, and a late strike from Daniel Barnabas secured a 2-0 win.

This result moves Plateau United up to fifth place on the NPFL table with 54 points, while Kwara United drops to 12th place, trailing by 9 points.

Meanwhile, it was a different story for Kano Pillars, who hosted their northern rivals, Niger Tornadoes, to a 1-1 draw at the General Sani Abacha Stadium.

The home fans were shocked when an own goal by Ismaila Nasir gave the Ikon Allah Boys the lead just two minutes after the interval.

However, the home side quickly restored parity, with their legendary star Rabiu Ali scoring just two minutes later to level the scores.

The match ended in a draw, leaving Kano Pillars in 9th place with 48 points, three points ahead of Niger Tornadoes in 11th place.
