Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini continued her red-hot form in the French Division 1 Féminine on Wednesday night, finding the back of the net once again to keep Paris Saint-Germain’s title hopes alive.
The 24-year-old Nigerian international was the standout performer as her second-half equaliser salvaged a vital point in a thrilling 2-2 away draw against Le Havre at the Stade Océane, Footballrover reports.
Her clinical finish in the 69th minute not only levelled the game but also showed how much she’s seriously improving since joining PSG from Juventus.
It was a crucial moment that breathed life back into the Paris side, who had earlier trailed at halftime.
Jennifer Echegini keeps delivering as PSG chase glory
PSG began the match with early control, taking the lead just 11 minutes in through Griedge Mbock.
But the advantage was short-lived as Le Havre responded almost immediately—Melinda Mendy netting an equaliser just two minutes later.
Mendy then turned provider, setting up Chancelle Effa, whose strike in the 36th minute gave the hosts a 2-1 lead going into the break.
Yet, Jennifer Echegini, showing elite composure and instinct, struck back in the second half.
Her finish levelled the game and also marked her 8th goal of the season, maintaining a strong scoring streak that has made her one of PSG’s most vital players.
8th goal of the season: Echegini’s impact keeps growing
Echegini was on the pitch for 85 minutes, recording five shots on goal before making way for Manssita Traoré.
Despite not completing the match, her impact already made the difference, snatching an important point for the team.
She now has 13 goal contributions—eight goals and five assists—in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
Wednesday’s draw extends PSG’s unbeaten run to eight games, following recent victories over Reims, Saint-Étienne, and Guingamp.
However, they remain 10 points behind Division 1 leaders Lyon as the season heads toward its final stretch.
Next up, Jennifer Echegini and her PSG teammates prepare for a crucial clash against Chiamaka Nnadozie’s Paris FC—another opportunity for the Super Falcons star to shine and possibly increase her tally beyond her current 8th of the season.
