Super Falcons forward Chinwendu Ihezuo has started 2026 and the new season in impressive fashion, scoring her first goal of the campaign to help Pachuca secure a commanding victory over Querétaro in their Liga MX Femenil Clausura Round 2 clash on Monday morning.

The 28-year-old forward, who scored 12 goals across all competitions last season—seven in the league and five in the CONCACAF Champions League—will be aiming to surpass that tally this season, and she has made a promising start.
The Nigerian international was in action for just 75 minutes before being replaced by Alexandra Godinez.
Pachuca put on a commanding display as they ran out comfortable winners over Queretaro, leaving no doubt about their dominance on the day.
The scoring started early when Chinwendu Ihezuo found the net in the 9th minute, giving Pachuca an immediate advantage.
Nina Nicosia then took centre stage, doubling the lead in the 31st minute and completing her brace with a clinical finish in the 74th minute, putting the game well beyond Querétaro’s reach.

Charlyn Corral capped off the emphatic victory in stoppage time, firing home the fourth goal and sending Pachuca’s fans home in celebration.
With two wins from two outings, including a 3-0 win over Atlas in their previous game, Ihezuo and her teammates have started the season on a perfect note.
The team now turns its attention to Friday’s clash against Cruz Azul as they aim to maintain their early momentum.
