Beppe Marotta, the CEO of Inter, has expressed his delight in re-signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
The details of the loan have been agreed upon by the two clubs, and Lukaku is scheduled to have a medical on Wednesday before signing the loan agreement and returning to the team with which he won the Serie A league in 2020–21.
Marotta has acknowledged that now that everything is almost finished, he is eager to see Lukaku once more wearing the Nerazzurri colors.
“I hope it can be closed, not in a few hours, but a few days. We cannot make it official yet. He is a returning player who has done very well with us and we are happy to bring him home.” – Marotta said.
Footballrover gathered that Inter actually paid an initial €8 million (£6.9 million) to sign Lukaku to a one-year loan agreement without a formal option or commitment to buy; however, the two clubs remain open to additional talks later in the season.

In addition to concluding the transfer of Romelu Lukaku, Marotta is attempting to reach an agreement with Paulo Dybala, who will leave Juventus at the end of the month when his contract ends.
“For Dybala, I do not hide the fact that we have met its representatives,” Marotta explained. “We need to carry out surveys and explore new paths, among these there is everything. Now with Dybala, to reach a conclusion, there must be important meetings. To date, we have not reached any agreement.” – Marotta noted
