Following the completion of his return to Inter on a season-long loan, Chelsea forward – Romelu Lukaku has expressed his happiness at making a return back to the Serie A side
Lukaku only left Nerazzurri to sign with the Blues in a high profile deal worth close to Β£100 million last summer, and while at Stamford Bridge, he had a difficult season in 2021β2022.
The 30-year-old attacker claims that returning to the Serie A team is like returning home, adding that he kept his home in Inter when he moved to the Premier League.
Despite finishing with 15 goals to lead Chelsea in scoring, he enraged the supporter base in a contentious interview by professing his love for Inter.
Following the two clubs’ confirmation of an agreement on Wednesday, Lukaku has now at last fulfilled his desire and returned to San Siro.

“It’s an amazing feeling. What we achieved here a year ago was fantastic. That goes for the team, the fans and also me personally. Inter has given me so much and I hope to do even better this time. It’s now time to work hard as a squad and hopefully even better than before.” – Lukaku said in an interview posted on Inter’s YouTube channel.
Lukaku thanked Inter president Steven Zhang in the interview for his assistance in getting the him back to the team on loan.
“We spoke about so many things and how it seemed impossible for me to come back here, but we managed it and I’m grateful for the way he kept pushing and believing it was possible,” he said.
Adding that;
“We managed to do it in the end and I’m delighted to be back. It’s like coming home. My family and I were so happy here thanks to the people, the fans and my team-mates. From the first day I arrived here, everyone helped me settle in. I kept my home here when I went to England so that means something.”
