Former Bendel Insurance striker, Imade Osarenkhoe, marked his debut for Dubai United FC by scoring his first goal in a close away match against Al-Thaid Sharjah.
This ex-NPFL star announced his arrival in the United Arab Emirates Division 1 with a debut goal in the fifth-round clash against Al-Thaid.
Despite his late goal, Imade couldn’t rescue his team from a narrow defeat, as United FC lost by a slim margin in the five-goal thriller.
The first half remained goalless, but both teams entered the second half with a hunger for goals. Just three minutes in, the home side broke the deadlock with a goal from Mohamed Fikri.
The hosts continued to dominate, with Lamar Walker scoring another goal 26 minutes later to double their lead, before Ahmed Suleiman managed to pull one back for United FC.
Al-Thaid Sharjah persisted in their pursuit of victory, and Lamar Walker netted a third goal just three minutes after regulation time, making it 3-1.
Just when it seemed like the game was over, the former Bendel Insurance star, Imade Osarenkhoe secured his first goal of the season five minutes later, resulting in a final score of 3-2.
Despite the victory, Al-Thaid remains in 17th place in the UAE Division One table with only two points, having won one and drawn one out of their last five matches, with three consecutive defeats.
On the other hand, Imade and his new teammates are in 6th place with 7 points, winning two games out of five, drawing one, and losing twice.
The youngster, who couldn’t contain his joy took to his social media page to say:
“When the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen… God is the greatest.”
Looking ahead, Imade and his teammates are preparing to face City FC Dubai in the United Arab Emirates Presidents Cup on Saturday before encountering the same opponent a week later in a league game.
