Manchester United held Leicester City to a 1-1 draw in their Premier League match on Saturday night, with Fred’s strike cancelling out Kelechi Iheanacho headed goal.

Barnes was the visitors’ main threat in the first half, and he came close to scoring on many occasions.

United struggled to get going, but had the best chance of the game when Fernandes slipped in behind the defence, but Schmeichel made a fantastic save to deny him. Paul Pogba also saw his header saved.

Before Kelechi Iheanacho scored for the visitors 18 minutes into the second half to break the tie.

Dewsbury-Hall turned to set Leicester back towards goal after Fred’s effort at a counter-attack was thwarted.

Maddison sent a beautiful, inch-perfect cross to pick out Iheanacho, who gets in front of Telles. De Gea gets a touch to it as he heads it back across goal, but was only able aid it over the line.

Their delight, however, was short-lived, as Fred equalised three minutes later to bring United back into the game.

Varane cut out Schmeichel’s clearance, and Fred passed it to Fernandes, who took it around Fofana before hitting a low shot on goal.

Schmeichel dives down to knock it away, but Fred was close behind, shooting it into the net’s roof from close range.

When Maddison scored at the near post late in the game, it was ruled off due to a foul by Iheanacho on Varane in the build-up. United made a late drive but couldn’t get a winner.

The points are shared after the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

United misses out on an opportunity to jump Tottenham into fifth place, despite the fact that they are now level on points.

For their next match, they go to Everton. Leicester climbs up to ninth place with that point, but their focus now shifts to Thursday’s Europa Conference League quarter-final against PSV Eindhoven.
