Celta Vigo 1-2 Real Madrid was the final result as Karim Benzema returns from muscular injury that ruled him out of El Clasico with a brace to help his side seal all three points during their Spanish La Liga clash.
Real Madrid bounced back from the thrashing in El Clasico, where they suffered a humbling 4-0 home defeat to their arch-rivals – Barcelona to beat Celta Vigo away from home.
In a game marked by penalty kicks, the Benzema came out on top, putting Madrid one step closer to reclaiming the title.
Celta should have ended up scoring more than their single second-half goal, and it is an unusual occurrence when a team is given three penalty kick attempts.

However, after the humiliation in El Clasico, any win will be satisfying for Los Blancos, who are now 12 points clear at the top of the table.
Carlo Ancelotti and his team can now turn their attention to a crucial Champions League quarter-final game with Chelsea next week, as the 13-time European champions look to beat the holders and advance to the final four.
Meanwhile, Celta will go to Espanyol on Sunday, still looking to put an end to their alarming run of form.
