Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Barcelona’s latest signing from Arsenal, has stated that he will do everything in his power to get the Spanish giants back into the Champions League.

After cancelling his contract with Arsenal on deadline day, the former captain became a new member of the Blaugrana family.

The player signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2025, with an option to leave on June 30, 2023, and a buyout clause of 100 million euros.

While speaking to Barca TV, the former Borussia Dortmund forward said;

“I will give everything I can to bring the team back into the Champions League. I’m very happy and satisfied to be here and I really want to get on the pitch. In the end the signing was done on the last day of the transfer window.”

The 32-year-old, who was stripped of his Arsenal captaincy in December due to a disciplinary incident said;

“It was a very difficult day, but in the end I’m here, excited and very happy. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and it’s an honor for me to be here. That’s why I signed for Barca.

The African Player of the Year in 2015 further noted;

“I have experience, I’ve played in Germany, France and England. So I came here to help and give my maximum. I am proud especially because my family is from Spain, my mother. I am very proud to be here. My main goal is to help the team.”

Aubameyang, the Bundesliga Player of the Year in 2016, stressed;

“I have spoken to Xavi and he sees me playing as a number 9, but I am ready to play on the wing if needed.”
