Josh Maja, a Nigerian forward, took to Twitter to express his delight at joining Stoke City on loan from Bordeaux on deadline day for the remainder of the season.
Maja joined Bordeaux from Sunderland in January 2019 and scored 11 goals in 48 games, although he spent the second half of the season on loan at Fulham, where he was unable to save the club from being relegated from the Premier League.
Maja then moved back to France in the summer, but due to a lack of fitness and playing time, he only appeared four more times for Bordeaux, which were all cameo appearances.
Maja was able to return to England in the dying hours of the January transfer window, signing a loan agreement with Stoke City until the end of the season.
It now appears that the move is something that the striker enjoys. Maja reacted to the decision on Twitter on Tuesday night, saying:
“Delighted to be a part of @stokecity for the rest of the season. Let’s work.”

Stoke City are now 12th in the Championship league, six points outside of the play-offs, and will play Wigan in the FA Cup on Saturday, a game in which Maja might make his debut.
