Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has praised Ethan Nwaneri’s stunning goal during the EFL Cup clash against Preston North End as ‘phenomenal.’

The young Gunner’s remarkable performance not only dazzled fans but also helped propel his side into the next stage of the competition, Footballrover reports.

Nwaneri’s ability to make decisive contributions has seen him gather love from Arsenal fans.

In the 33rd minute, Nwaneri found the net with a precise, curling shot that soared into the top corner, marking his third goal in the competition.

Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory over Preston North End at Deepdale, dominating large portions of the match.

Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring midway through the first half, ending a lengthy search for a goal, before Nwaneri doubled the lead with his stunning strike just before halftime.

Following the break, Arteta’s much-changed side extended their lead with a goal from substitute Kai Havertz.

The goal that Ethan scored obviously was phenomenal. He keeps doing it in training, he’s got the ability, his personality, to make decisions in the final third so I’m really happy,” Arteta said.

Ethan’s impact did not go unnoticed, as he was later voted Player of the Match by Arsenal fans.

He received 76% of the votes, decisively outpacing Jakub Kiwior, who garnered 14%, Gabriel Jesus with 6%, and Jorginho, who received 4%.

With this victory, the North London side will face Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals, a matchup set to take place at the Emirates Stadium.

In their last encounter against the Eagles, Gunners triumphed with a resounding 5-0 victory in January of the previous season.

Having already netted three goals in this competition, with his last two coming against Bolton in a commanding 5-1 win on September 25, Nwaneri aims to extend his impressive run.

However, before that challenge, Arsenal must first tackle Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend, with fans eager to see the 17-year-old in action once again.
