After coming on as a substitute, Lyon forward Moussa Dembele scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over third-place Marseille in the French league on Tuesday.
Dembele was expected to miss the match but was finally called up to the Lyon team, starting on the bench in a rematch of a match that was called off in November when a supporter hurled a bottle at Marseille’s Dimitri Payet.
Lyon controlled the game in the first half despite the lack of many regular players, but was mainly ineffective.

Marseille scored with a set piece in the ninth minute, only to let the lead slip away in the final 15 minutes.
Following Matteo Guendouzi’s early goal, Xherdan Shaqiri equalised for the hosts in the 75th minute, before Moussa Dembele grabbed the victory for Lyon with two minutes remaining.

Marseille squandered the opportunity to leapfrog Nice into second place, remaining 13 points behind leader Paris Saint-Germain.
“We knew this game was decisive. We wanted to continue our good form that we’ve had since the beginning of the year. The main thing was to win. I hope this victory will bring others to keep moving up the table. We had to show our best,” Antho said.
While Lyon Boss, Peter Bosz added;
“We played the first half with 5 defenders. We didn’t absorb the pressure. In the second half, we took more risks, and we played very well. It was an important match. We came back in the game’s final minutes.”
