Chelsea have finalised the recruitment of Mason Burstow from Charlton Athletic, who will spend the rest of the season on loan at the Valley.
Charlton signed Burstow as a second-year scholar from non-league side –Β Welling United in October 2020, and made his senior debut againstΒ Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy earlier this season.
The attacker came off the bench late in the game and scored his first goal in professional football with a superb diving header just 2 minutes after stepping on.
The youngster has made 14 appearances for the Addicks this season, scoring six goals, and will now return on loan to Johnnie Jackson’s side, who are presently 14th in League One.
According to the Thomas Tuchel side;Β
βWe have completed the signing of Mason Burstow from Charlton Athletic. The teenage striker will return to The Valley on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.β

WhileΒ Charlton Athletic added that;
“We’ve had a lot of interest in Mason but we only were going to let him go if it was an excellent deal for the club. Chelsea have matched our valuation and, as part of the deal, he will come back to us on loan which was important for us.”
Delighted for it to be official, Iβll keep my head down and stay fully committed to @CAFCofficial 110% π https://t.co/K75QyloRAA
