Since last night, coach of the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, Nduka Ugbade has been in the news after being captured giving South African U-17 player Siyabonga Mabena a heartfelt embrace.
The Nigerian coach gave Siyabonga Mabena a hearty hug for pulling a stunning man-of-the-match performance against the Golden Eaglets.
The coach of the Golden Eaglets heaped praises on Mabena, the South African attacker who received the MVP award soon after South Africa and Nigeria’s U-17 AFCON match.
Before stoppage time of the first half, Mabena baited the Nigerian defense and executed a fantastic solo drive to give South Africa their second goal of the evening.
He dislodged two Nigerian defenders before launching a fierce effort into the goal.
After CAF Media had completed interviewing the young South African striker at the sidelines, Nduka Ugbade met with the game’s MOTM winner and was gushing with admiration for the player.
“You are a bundle of talent. You sure have a great future in football. Allow me to hug you, please,” Ugbade told Mabena.
Mabena was absolutely in disbelief of Ugbade’s compassion as they both shared a close embrace, thus demonstrating why football is a wonderful game to all who watched the lovely sight.
In Wednesday night’s game, coach Nduka Ugbade and his young team were able to dominate South Africa by coming from behind twice to secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
The Golden Eaglets are now awaiting their opponents, who might likely be Burkina Faso or Cameroon in the quarterfinals.
