The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria got the job done against the Amajimbos of South Africa as they bounced back from behind twice to secure a 3-2 win in their final group stage match of the on-going U-17 AFCON in Algeria.
The Eaglets are through to the quarterfinals with 6 points, 2 wins against Zambia and South Africa,and a 1-0 loss to Morocco in the second match of the group.

The Golden Eaglets scored a total of four goals, three against South Africa and one against Zambia, and conceded three goals, two against South Africa and one against Morocco, in the group stage.
Siyabonga Mabena gave South Africa the lead in the first 20 minutes of the match with a solo effort, but Charles Agada equalized with a header in the 34th minute of the second half.
South Africa increased the tally to 2-1 before halftime, but Nigeria made it 2-2 in the 62nd minute of the second half.
Abubakar Abdullahi scored Nigeria’s third, winning in the 64th minute of the second half after Emmanuel Michael’s cross.
Nigeria will most likely face another West African foe, Senegal, in the quarterfinal on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

The quarterfinal match is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Nigerian time.
South Africa might also qualify for the quarterfinals as one of the best losers with 3 points earned after their 3-2 win against Zambia in the second group B match.
Nigeria finished in group B as runners-up behind the leaders, Morocco.
