Mali secured their qualification to the U-17 FIFA World Cup after booking their spot in the 2023 Total Energies AFCON U17 semi-finals.
Mali on Thursday evening picked up the third World Cup spot for Africa and a semi-final ticket in the on-going 2023 CAF U-17 Africa Cup Nations in Algeria.

Mali defeated Congo 3-0 in the third quarterfinal match played today at the 19 May 1956 Stadium in Annaba, Algeria.
Anga Tia and utility player Mamadou Doumbia, respectively, scored the first and second goals for Mali in the 7th and 31st minutes of the first half of the match, ending the half on a 2-0 scoreline.
Before Mahamoud Barry sealed the 3-0 victory for Mali in the second half.
Mali will now meet Group B leaders Morocco in the second semi-final match on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the 1956 Stadium, Annaba, by 8 p.m. Nigerian time.
Shortly after the encounter, Mahamoud Barry, was named the Total Energies Man of the Match.
