Unstoppable Super Falcons duo Gift Monday and Rinsola Babajide have once again continued their impressive form in Liga F after grabbing a goal apiece to lead their team, UD Tenerife, to an important victory over Sevilla on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigerian forwards delivered another standout performance, both getting on the scoresheet in a crucial 2-0 win over Sevilla on Sunday, Footballrover reports.
But their impact went beyond just goals—one moment in the second half left fans in so much excitement.
While Babajide scored the opening goal of the contest, she also provided Monday with the second goal to lead their team to a vital win in the Primera División at the Ramón Cisneros Palacios.
Rinsola Babajide leads the charge; Gift Monday seals the victory
Rinsola Babajide set the tone early, scoring the opening goal for the Warriors just nine minutes into the game after capitalising on a rebound.
The 26-year-old last scored in their 5-1 win over Deportivo La Coruna on January 11, a clash that also saw her bag an assist.
She didn’t stop there—her perfectly timed cross in the second half found Gift Monday, who powered in a header to double Tenerife’s lead 11 minutes into the second half.
Her celebration was even more exciting—”a VAR review and confirmation that the goal stands,” marking Gift’s ninth Liga F goal of the season.
With this latest contribution, Babajide now has six league goals and two assists in 14 appearances.
Meanwhile, Gift Monday has been in lethal form, scoring in four consecutive matches and taking her season tally to 15 goal contributions (nine goals, two assists in Liga F, plus two Copa de la Reina goals).
However, in the 75th minute, Babajide made way for Beatriz Beltran to take her place for the rest of the game, while Gift made way for Sakina Ouzraoui just seven minutes before the final whistle.
Tenerife’s winning streak continues as Sevilla struggles
Tenerife held firm after going 2-0 up, with Sevilla struggling to break through. Their frustration peaked in the 87th minute when Alba Cerrato received a red card, leaving them with 10 players.
The visitors controlled the remainder of the game, securing back-to-back wins following their 2-0 victory over Madrid CFF.
Now sitting in sixth place with 26 points, UD Tenerife will look to extend their winning run when they face Valencia next Sunday.
With the Super Falcons duo of Gift and Rinsoa in top form, the team’s attack remains a serious threat in Liga F.
