Al Ittihad Women put on a ruthless display in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, storming to a commanding home win over Al-Taraji, thanks to Francisca Ordega and Ashleigh Plumptre, who were both in superb form on Saturday evening.
The Super Falcons stars were at the heart of the action, delivering breathtaking performances that left their opponents in shambles, Footballrover reports.
From early domination to a relentless second-half display, Al Ittihad’s star duo ensured a night to remember.
Francisca Ordega netted a hat-trick and contributed an assist, while Ashleigh Plumptre scored once and set up three goals, as Al Ittihad Ladies cruised to a dominant home win against Al-Taraji.
Ordega played a key role in the second goal, while Plumptre provided assists for the fourth, fifth, and seventh strikes of the match.
Francisca Ordega’s hat-trick brillance, Ashleigh Plumptre’s playmaking masterclass
Coming off a 2-1 defeat to Al Nassr, Al Ittihad needed a response—and they delivered in devastating fashion.
The floodgates opened in the 22nd minute when Nigerian defender Ashleigh Plumptre fired in the opener.
Just three minutes later, Raneem Al Sharif doubled the lead, setting the stage for a one-sided encounter.
The relentless attacking continued as Francisca Ordega made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute.
Al Sharif struck again three minutes later, giving Al Ittihad a dominant 4-0 lead before halftime.
The second half was no different. Lili Iskandar netted in the 48th minute, before Farah Jefry made it 6-0 in the 63rd.
Then came Ordega’s moment of magic—the Nigerian forward completed her hat-trick with clinical finishes in the 66th and 72nd minutes.
Fatimah Mansour sealed the thrashing in stoppage time, putting the final nail in Al-Taraji’s coffin.
A crucial win for Al Ittihad in the Saudi Women’s Premier League
Beyond individual brilliance, this emphatic victory was a much-needed boost for Al Ittihad.
After suffering five straight defeats and seven winless outings, they finally grabbed three crucial points, lifting them out of the relegation zone to seventh place with 21 points.
Meanwhile, Al-Taraji remain rooted to the bottom, still searching for their first point of the season.
This latest display from Ordega shows how she has adapted so fast to the team, bringing her tally to five goals and three assists since joining the club.
Plumptre, on the other hand, now has three goals and a team-leading four assists this season.
Al Ittihad will look to build on this momentum when they face Al Shabab Women next month.
